WRNMMC partners with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to offer state-of-the-art
clinical research trials for cancer treatment. As a patient, you will
have access to research protocol and standard treatment options. By
working with the NCI, WRNMMC is able to offer more than the traditional
options for treatment.
Oncology certified nursing staff
- Chemotherapy and oncology certified nursing staff meets the
national standards in oncology and shows commitment to patient
care.
- Education of patients and their caregivers in all topics related
to treatment and quality of life is a major nursing priority.
Primary
nursing care throughout treatment
Your primary care nurse -
- Builds a personal relationship with you,
- Has a thorough knowledge of your medical history,
- Is highly experienced in crisis management, and
- Will teach you about your disease, treatment options and quality
of life issues.
Peripherally
Inserted Central Catheter (PICC)
- PICC lines are venous access devices that can be placed in an
outpatient setting.
- Staff nurses are certified in PICC placement.
