Birthing is life's greatest miracle. A positive experience for your family is as important to us as it is to you. The Mother and Infant Care Center (MICC) is a hallmark of WRNMMC's quality of service and a leading example of advanced childbirth health care. Family-Centered Care and the most modern practices and technology are employed for a safe and comfortable experience.

WRNMMC's MICC delivers more than 2,000 babies each year and is one of the largest birthing centers in the Department of Defense medical system.

The Start of Something Beautiful!

Labor, delivery, and recovery all take place in specially designed birthing rooms with warm, home-like environments, featuring private bathrooms, birthing beds, televisions, pullout sofas, and telephones. Take a Virtual Tour of a Birthing Room

Operating rooms with the latest medical equipment are conveniently located for Cesarean deliveries. After delivery, your family is provided with a private room (at no extra charge) on the Couplet Care Unit where a specially trained nurse cares for mother and baby. These rooms feature the above amenities plus a refrigerator and a state-of-the-art anti-infant-abduction system.The MICC also offers:

* 24-hour visitation
* Priority-parking passes for new and expectant mothers
* Lactation (breast-feeding) consulting and education sessions
* Room service and "Special Delivery" meals

The 23-room suite is broken up into eight labor rooms and 15 post-partum rooms. There is also a three-bed triage room, two operating rooms and a 25-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) right next door.
