USNS Comfort.

The hospital ship USNS Comfort is
an operational platform of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center .

This means that WRNMMC medical staff provide onboard medical support during war and national disasters when the Comfort is deployed for duty.

USNS Comfort is the second Mercy Class hospital ship to join Navy's fleet. She was delivered to the Navy on Dec. 1, 1987 and assigned to the Military Sealift Command.

The Bureau of Medicine and Surgery is the authority for the onboard Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). WRNMMC staffs the MTF during deployments.

Civilian mariners maintain the Comfort in dock and operate her underway.
